SOUND/APPEARANCE

Do you supply your own amplification? 

  • Yes. Each musician provides his or her own amplification. 

How many outlets does the band need? 

  • We require one three-pronged outlet that is reasonably accessible.

Can we use your microphone for toasts/speeches? 

  • Yes.

Our venue said that our music can’t be louder than _____ decibels. Will that be an issue? 

  • No. We have complete control of our volume level and can adjust to meet the needs of any venue. 

Our venue has its own sound system, can the band connect to it to amplify the sound? 

  • Yes. We can provide the venue with our sound system connection AV requirements. This is usually not an issue with standard sound systems.

How much space does the band need? 

  • When playing without drums the band takes up the space of a large dinning booth. With drums we will require an approximately 10x10 square foot area.

Does the band require a riser or portable flooring? 

  • No. If we have solid ground and an outlet, we are good to go. 

What does the band wear? 

  • The band dresses in dark or black clothing so we can blend in with any décor. 

 

THE MUSIC

Are all your songs slow? 

  • Nope. We read the room and will change the tempo and style on most of our tunes as if necessary. We generally keep it lively for cocktail hour and the dancing portion of the event. The band usually slows it down during the dinner hour. 

Can we have a set that’s just instrumentals?

  • Yes. Just let us know. 

Can your band play for our ceremony? 

  • Of course. We usually recommend hiring one or two band members for the ceremony (For example:  guitar and bass) but if a full band is what you want, we would love to be a part of your ceremony. 

Can your band play classical music for the ceremony? 

  • Yes, however, this will be considered a special request and will require an extra fee and at least two weeks notice. 

Can you give suggestions for songs for the processional and recessional? 

  • You bet. We have been doing this a long time and can offer some classics that seem to work every time. 

Can you give us a suggestion for a first dance song? 

  • Yes. We can send you song suggestions that include lyrics. 

Can we see a sample set list? 

  • Yes. We would be happy to send you a copy of one of our set lists. 

My fiancé and I have been rehearsing a dance that is recoded, can your band match the tempo and play that song for our first dance? 

  • Yes. Send us the recording and we will match it.  If the song is outside our genre there may be an extra fee. 

 

EXTRAS

Do you provide emcee services?

  • Yes. There is additional cost for emcee services/announcements. Couples/assigned guests/company organizers are welcome to use a mic, at no extra cost. 

Do you provide recorded music when the band is on break. 

  • Yes. Recorded music can be made available upon request. 

Do you play special requests

  • Yes. If the request is outside of our genre, there will be an extra fee, and we ask for two weeks notice. This will give us time to create charts and rehearse. 

Can my fiancé/special guest, sing or play with the band? 

  • Sure. If, however, the song is outside our genre, we will need two weeks notice and a special request fee may be applied. charged?

Can your band change locations during our event? 

  • Yes, however, you will be charged a fee for every move due to the additional set-up requirements.  

Our wedding is outside.  Does the band have to be covered? 

  • Yes. A cover is required to protect the instruments from sun or rain damage.

 

PAYMENT

Do you charge by the hour? 

  • Yes, however, we do not charge for load-in/loadout or set-up time. We only charge for the time we are hired to play including breaksLoad-in is one hour before the music start time.  If, however, you require the band to complete the set-up more than one hour before the music start time, an additional fee may be charged.

How do we secure our date? 

  • To hold the date, we require a deposit of ½ of the full payment.

When is the final payment due? 

  • Final payment will be due two weeks prior to the event. 

Can we pay with a credit card? 

  • Yes. We accept credit cards, checks, Zelle and Venmo. 

Can we make installment payments for your services? 

  • Yes. Just let us know and we can arrange a payment schedule. Final payment will be due two weeks before the event. 

Do we need to sign a contact?

  • Yes. Once the booking is made, Ambience Jazz will send a contract that both parties will sign. 

Can you create invoices for our company? 

  • Yes.

Can Ambience Jazz provide a W9? 

  • Yes.

Do you charge a travel fee? 

  • If the event is outside King County a small travel fee will be added. 

Who pays for the bands parking? 

  • If the venue requires paid parking, this is usually included in the quote from Ambience Jazz. 

Does the band need to be fed? 

  • If the band performs three hours or longer, a meal for each member will be required.

Do we need to tip the band? 

  • Tipping is not required but it is always appreciated.
